Regency Lofts Grand Opening

On November 10th we celebrated alongside our client MREC at their grand opening of Regency Lofts—a 120 mixed-income multifamily development and pre-K. The newly designed complex includes a clubhouse, community room, fitness center, a resort-style swimming pool, business center, game room, and a grill house. Regency Lofts is a welcome addition to Houston’s affordable housing scene. The 3.19-acre property is located at 3230 Dixie Drive, in Third Ward Houston Texas. The newly designed complex includes 47 one-bedroom, 61 two-bedroom, and 12 three-bedroom units, all of which will be reserved for low-income residents.

The pre-kindergarten school is a stand-alone structure, with its own secured entrance, parking, and amenities. It is one of several amenities available at no cost to the residents of Regency Lofts and is open to the neighborhood. It will be operated by WALIPP (William A. Lawson Institute for Peace and Prosperity), a third-party educational provider, and a nonprofit partner in the ownership and development of Regency Lofts.

“One of the reasons the development wanted to include a pre-K is because they know the impact that education has on building a stronger community. It demonstrates not only a commitment to high-quality affordable housing, but also strengthening the community around it.”
—Cheryl Lawson, Executive Director of WALIPP

We are grateful to all individuals who have made this project possible, as well as every community member working to create more affordable housing in Houston.
